Now is the time for change

About me

Like most children, I was very close to nature and a loving animal lover during elementary school. As a young adult, I wanted to be a farmer, so I rescued snails, watched fish, and helped out in the barn.

After school, my path led me away from agriculture and towards the educational institution.

As the long-time director of a daycare center in North Rhine-Westphalia, one of my main focuses was teaching the children how to treat their environment responsibly. Ecological education—living in harmony with nature—was a part of the children's everyday lives and was demonstrated even to our youngest children through forest days, healthy nutrition, proper waste separation, and the economical use of resources, and was naturally embedded in our educational work. Education for sustainable development was also always an exciting learning experience for our elementary school children and was brought to life through activities, inspiration, and projects in the daycare center's daily routine.

Providing personal and individual advice to families, clients, and employees has always been a given for me in my professional context.

In 2016, with the move to beautiful Saarland and our new home in the countryside, not only did our dog Balou join us, but a much more environmentally conscious and sustainable lifestyle also came with us. What had always been dormant within me suddenly found space and was able to blossom and unfold.
I asked myself why I was only now waking up and recognizing the need to treat our planet even more responsibly.
Since then, I have been intensively involved with reducing CO2 emissions, vegetarian and vegan diets, reducing waste, and living a minimalist lifestyle.
My heartfelt desire is to share these important insights.
After completing my further training as an educational consultant for sustainable development and as a coach, I now look forward to accompanying open-minded people on their very personal, fulfilling journey.

Why actually "Kikis"?

"Kikis" isn't a brand name that immediately suggests sustainability and environmental protection. That's true. But there's a story behind it.
For many years, close friends have called me "Kiki," a nickname derived from my first name, Kirsten.
To escape the coronavirus lockdown and give people a little entertainment, my husband and I spontaneously founded a volunteer web radio station, SaarGauWelle, in the spring of 2020. I was the host, Kiki, with programs like "Kiki's Children's Time," "Kiki's Climate Tip," "Kiki's Cooking Pot," and "Kiki's Creative Workshop."
During that time, we were able to meet many interesting people, welcome them to the radio studio, and conduct great interviews. "Kikis" was born and firmly established in the minds of many, so it made sense to keep the name.
